Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
In cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), I help children and adults become more aware of the thoughts, emotions and behaviors that are holding them back, and help individuals learn how to handle them in a more productive way. It is a present-oriented, structured therapy that involves problem solving, and includes an action plan for moving forward. I also utilize outcome measures so we can closely gauge our progress, without having to make vague estimates. A confluence of research indicates that rapport with your therapist is equally important as the therapist's training and skills. Thus, I endeavor to make therapy sessions a safe, comfortable space where we can build an alliance that fosters trust and growth.
